EDIFY Summer Learning Event 2024

20/06/24

On the 20th of June 2024 EDIFY hosted its third annual summer meeting. We saw a great turnout with the attendance of many members of the EDIFY consortium travelling in from across the United Kingdom, alongside youth advisors, BEAT ambassadors, and other collaborators.

The day began with a welcome speech from Professor Ulrike Schmidt and Dr Helen Sharpe before members of workstreams one to five gave brief presentations providing updates on their progress, their outputs, challenges they’ve faced and how they have overcame them, or sought advice from other members on how best to tackle these.

We were delighted to then have our new artists in residence give us presentations which detailed their designs, artistic style, and how they hope to interweave this into the EDIFY project to create some interesting artistic outputs.

Finally, in an afternoon session led by Ms Sneha Raman, each workstream presented posters exploring how they have incorporated lived experience into their studies and the impact and output of their workstreams alongside their future aims. Additionally, this session focused on interdisciplinary working including what has been done already and potential future collaborations. During the presentation of each workstream’s poster other EDIFY members brainstormed ideas on how, as a project, we can collaborate across workstreams to aid each other to improve the EDIFY project as a whole.

It was an amazing opportunity for old and new members of the EDIFY project to convene in person, discuss the project, and share ideas! Please see the photos below for an overview of the day.
