In this episode of PaperMate, EDIFY placement student Lizzie Fordham talks to Dr Katie Richards and Ms Lucy Hyam about two new research papers on the First Episode Rapid Early Intervention for Eating Disorders (FREED). Both research papers investigate clinician's views on early intervention for eating disorders and FREED, as well as how this service model has been implemented in eating disorder services. The papers are titled "Clinician perspectives of the implementation of an early intervention service for eating disorders in England: a mixed method study" & “FREED instils a bit of hope in the eating disorder community… that things can change.”: an investigation of clinician views on implementation facilitators and challenges from the rapid scaling of the First Episode Rapid Early Intervention for Eating Disorders programme.
The full papers can be accessed via the following links: https://doi.org/10.1186/s40337-024-01000-4 & https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyt.2024.1327328
PaperMate is a series from the EDIFY consortium in which members of the EDIFY group speak to eating disorder researchers about their recent projects, in order to demystify research and improve accessibility.
