‘Hungry for Words: Creative approaches to start the conversation about eating disorders in men’

EDIFY co-investigator Professor Heike Bartel conducted an innovative and much needed project called ‘hungry for words’, focusing on communicating and understanding eating disorders in men and boys. The project won the Research Project of the Year (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) in the Times Higher Education Awards 2021. Professor Bartel’s work will be vital in guiding our own work with under-represented groups in eating disorder research such as men and boys. 


The 'consider eating disorders in men' e-learning course for GPs is accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners. This animated course voiced by patients, provides insight, clinical top tips, evidence-informed advice and treatment guidance.
