Research participation opportunity! 'Close others' of people who have experienced an eating disorder

We are looking to connect with ‘close others' of people who have experienced an eating disorder, including parents, siblings, partners, friends and colleagues! The purpose of the project is to understand how people seek help for an eating disorder. We are interested your perspective on what helps people to seek help and also what makes it difficult, as someone who supports a person with an eating disorder. We are particularly interested in the experiences of people from under-served groups in eating disorder treatment.

Who we would like to talk to:

We are looking to speak to ‘close others’ of people who have experienced an eating disorder. It is not necessary for your loved one to have received a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder or to have received specialist treatment.

To take part in this study, you must:

- Be a friend, family member or partner to someone who has a current or past experience of any eating disorder (formal diagnosis or experience of treatment is not required)

- Be aged 16 years or older.

- Be willing to take part in a semi-structured interview.

What is involved?

If you choose to take part in the project you will be asked to take part in an interview (lasting up to 1 hour) and complete a short questionnaire.

If you think you might be interested, please contact Jessica.wilkins@kcl.ac.uk for more information.
